Our amber necklaces are handmade in Lithuania. The necklaces are designed to break safely under too much pressure. In addition, each bead is individually knotted, which prevents beads from coming loose during a break, which your child could swallow.
What is amber?
Baltic amber is fossilized resin from coniferous trees in the Scandinavian region, approximately 44 million years old. At that time, there was a relatively mild climate, and the coniferous forest extended far into the Scandinavian region with trees up to 40 meters high. Amber, contrary to what the name suggests, is fossilized resin and not a stone. Amber feels very pleasant on the skin; it is light and not cold.
Which size should I choose?
The length of the necklace remains a personal choice; it's a matter of taste. To see which length you like, you can cut a string to the desired length and try it on. We advise not to choose too large a necklace for small children, as they might chew on it. Up to the age of three, you can easily choose the amber baby necklace with a length of 32 cm. Is your child older? Then choose the amber children's necklace of 38 cm.
Safety
General safety instruction: "Children under three years of age should not wear jewelry without adult supervision. Because it contains small parts." This also applies to wearing our amber necklaces.
